Okay peeps, this shit is real. I weighed myself this morning and am down 19 pounds! I really and truly thought I would not be able to lose weight, as in never ever ever. I’m almost 62 years old and figured this was as good as it was EVER going to get. Talk about discouraging. Ugh.
I tried SO HARD trying paleo, Whole 30, Weight Watchers, intermittent fasting, tracking every damn mouthful in a journal, you name it, and what did I get? Fatter.
I switch to a plant-based diet and the weight is falling off. Go figure.
And it isn’t only the weight. I saw my doctor today and got good news about my cholesterol….down 25%!
Happy dance!
So what did I eat today?
Breakfast: short latte with almond milk from Starbucks
Lunch: Met my youngest son at a gluten-free restaurant and had fish and chips. Yup, they were ALL fried. The fish was really good; the fries not so much.
See? I don’t make myself be “perfect” (whatever THAT is???) and am reasonable because I want to see my loved ones. Next time I will pick the place and it’s gonna be vegan. LOL
Dinner: More of that mung bean curry glop I made last night. I threw in 2 giant handfuls of fresh spinach. All will be well.
A really cool thing happened yesterday and today. I was walking the furkid and saw a bee swarm on a cedar near my house. I called the local Tualatin Valley beekeepers and someone came out to get them this morning! baby steps to save nature and the earth!
Check out this HUGE swarm! The beekeeper said it was one of the biggest she had ever seen. I am so grateful she was able to come and rescue them.
